Calling lists of posts from each category?

Is it possible to call the latest 5 or any number of posts from a specific category and list them by title only? For example, say I have category 1, category 2, and category 3. Now on my homepage I want to call a list from each category of their last 5 posts. So I would have 3 separate vertical lists of the linkable titles to the last 5 posts of each category. Is that at all possible?
