Calling latest post thumbnail to page outside loop

Hello

I’ve tried various things suggested in other posts and not sure why it isn’t working as it should be easy….

basically I have another page in my website that isn’t main blog page…and I’d like to call in image from latest post. I have thumbnails function and have set name for size of image etc..but codes I’ve tried haven’t worked.

Is there a standard way of doing this.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
