    Running CloudFlare if that matters

Sample problem here, started around the same time so I suspect that Wordfence is offline — also running CloudFlare, could be some connection.

Hey, thanks for writing me! That means a lot to see a reply even though it is not from WordFence. It shows that we are all a Community — not to sound corny or anything.

I filed a Support Ticket on their Site as well. There have been some HUGE Global hacks going on so hopefully it is an unrelated deal.

Hope your stuff gets back to normal and have a great morning!

On the WordFence website profile area, I checked to make sure I have the right WordFence API Key, copied it again making sure that is not the issue, but in the “Get you API keys” area of the WordFence member area, under website, it for some reason displays: “Not assigned yet” when it has been assigned.

Cloudflare is not the issue. I am not using Cloudflare. It is without doubt a strictly WordFence issue.

Same error for me (Premium member):
Wordfence Live Activity: Call to Wordfence API to resolve IPs failed: WordFence API error: The Wordfence key you’re using is not valid. Make sure you copied it correctly from http://www.wordfence.com.

I filed a ticket on the WordFence site about 12 hours ago and heard nothing. It is troubling as I do not know if the protection is even doing anything which is why I bought the product in the first place. I suppose; had I not paid for anything, I would have no gripe. When you pay money, though and at the height of a Global WordPress hacking barrage, one kind of would like at least an answer explaining what the @#%$ is going on.

    Hi Guys,

We’re almost done updating the premium tickets so if you filed one you should already have a response. This issue is now resolved and we’re busy investigating further. Will update via the premium support system first.

    Regards,

    Mark.

    Hi,

I received the response, and the API was operational for a brief period of time. However, it appears you WordFence API errors are resurfacing. Is this issue still considered resolved?

This is the most bizarre behaviour.
