Call to undefined function wp()

    The last post I see on this topic is 3+ years old.
    I tried to move site to Hostgator from current host.

    I transferred sql DB, and WP files. I updated the config file. No luck.

    A tech at Hostgator worked with me for a time but unable to troubleshoot, so I asked if he was able to just set up a new WP installation. He did, and I then killed the sql, transferred mine, added the theme, and amazing, the site was there. Now, I am about to move a few more sites, and still curious what caused the error. Wondering if a permissions issue or other simple cause triggers this.
