I am new to WordPress. I have created a lot of pages, but the Welcome page(1st page) is Static without a menu across the top.

I have been attempting to install a “Call to Action” button on that page that will take a visitor into my site. I have followed a tutorial I found on YouTube(to a tee).

    I:
    1. Located a button on Google images
    2. I pasted the button onto my edit page where I wanted the button to
    be located.
    3. I determined where I wanted the button to take the visitor
    4. I then clicked on the button, and clicked on the “link URL” button
    at the top.
    5. When the action box appeared I pasted the location into the box,
and named the location “Entry Page.”

No matter how many times I tried this process the button always took me to businessinsider.com. The button was, I think, was created by businessinsider.com. I want this button to take my visitor to my “about me” page, but instead it takes them to a Business Insider magazine page.

Does anyone know a way to change that link so it will behave how I want it to? I’m sure this is a common problem associated with many of the Google images. I just can’t find a solution.

    Thanks

  • I’m not sure I understand what you are doing here.

I mean, you can link any image to any page… any time! So, you can take any image you want, and then link it to the page by assigning a link around the image.

Is it your theme that you are trying to do this inside? Or are you doing it in PHP? Is this a custom template?
