    hi there

as a recation to the attacks in london we set up a website called werenotafraid.com, and we are running it on a wordpress blog. i am not pimping the project here, my questions is of a somewhat technical nature.

the project has really taken off, we had 11 million hits in just a few days, but we had to notice that the wordpress software was not able to deal with the load:

i can’t exactly explain it but the host told us that it was wordpress that got our database to fold again and again.

has anyone had experience with extreme traffic on a wordpress blog and could help us deal with this? we could really use a top-notch wp coder who could give us some hints.

this could also be an interesting situation to check how wp does hold up in a project that really takes off like so…
