Appreciate the update. It's closer now. It's showing the bolded days with posts now, however when you look at the link for a day it's returning a link for each day on the Calendar Widget with '&future=all' appended to the link, example: (http://www.ralawson.com/blog/2012/04/30/&future=all) instead of (http://www.ralawson.com/blog/2012/04/30/).
This one is probably going to be tougher to nail down.

Thanks for pointing this one out. I never tested the calendar for compatibility with nice permalinks. I'm working on redesigning the calendar now. When it's done, the calendar code will be more in line with the new code WordPress uses with the calendar widget, plus calendar links should work whether you have Default permalinks or the more easily readable ones.

I have fixed both problems: the issue with calendar navigation links for sites using pretty permalinks, and the issue with activating/deactivating the plugin causing the calendar to be removed from the sidebar. Please upgrade your version to 1.1 and let me know if you have further problems! And if this solves it, don't forget to mark this topic as resolved.

There is another small bug I found, though it shouldn't keep you from using the plugin. Specifically, the calendar does not generate proper titles for the individual day links (in the default widget, this allows you to hover over days in the calendar and see the titles of posts on those days). I will release 1.1.1 with the fix soon.

    Updated to version 1.1.
Went to activate the calendar widget and it was still in the primary widget area.
Selected the option to include future posts and selected save.
Went to site and the widget appears to display correctly.
    Date selection is working okay.
    {We already know about the title issue when hovering over the date.}
Selected Archives dropdown to go to April 2012.
    Everything appears to work correctly.
Until I ran into another oddity.
There are two directional selectors at the base of the widget for prior month and next month.
Selected next selector to move to May 2012 and the month went to March 2012.
Selecting the prior selector moves correctly to the prior month.
Don't you just hate why they call them bugs?

Thanks for noticing so many things! I was testing the navigation, but I have a penchant for not noticing the difference between March and May, so I just overlooked the directional selector problem. Easily fixed though. I'll post the updated version in about an hour.

Version 1.1.1 with the bugfix for the next navigational link in the calendar widget is up. This evening I should be able to release 1.1.2 with the fix for the title issue when hovering over dates in the calendar.

1.1.2 released! Calendar dates now have titles when you hover over them. I can't find any more bugs, but your keen perception may run across something else I missed. Thanks again for spotting these problems!

Fantastic work. You can't tell the difference between the widgets until you start to use it. Thanks for the patience and hard work. This one will pay off in spades.

I'm glad it's working well for you now! Thank you for your help in spotting errors. I would like to give you a mention on my website, and link to your site, if I may. Would you mind if I do this? And do you have a particular site you would want me to link to?

No problem. You had a solution to a problem I had with displaying future posts. And it works great. The site to link is http://www.ralawson.com/blog. It's a personal site for a variety of information.
