[resolved] Buttons on index pages (7 posts)

    Hello,

I recently started using the plugin on http://www.schmidi.hu and have some problems with index pages.

    1.
If I look on the index pages or the homepage itself, every button uses the current URL instead of using the URL of the post it is related to.

    For example:
I have 9 posts listed on the homepage, it shows 9 sets of buttons (1 set related to every single post), but all of them use http://www.schmidi.hu instead of using the URL of the post.

    2.
I use two post types: images and galleries.
When listing gallery posts, the buttons don't show up at all, for example: http://www.schmidi.hu/type/gallery/ or see the bottom of the homepage, the one before the last post.

Could you please help me with these problems?

    Thanks,
    Schmidi

Ah, yes, small typo on one line. It'll be fixed on the next version (hopefully released later today).

    Thanks,

    js.

I still have the problem with twitter & pinterest with the posts on my home page--they link to my home blog page instead of the post, and the text is the name & description of my blog. Facebook & google+ seem to be okay. I'm using the newest version 3.5.1 of the plugin.

    Traci,

I had a look (as best I could since you didn't turn on NGFB's debug mode), and the URLs and images used for Pinterest appear accurate. The caption text is not though - you're right, it uses the website description, not the post text. I've fixed it in the latest DEV version available form http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/nextgen-facebook.zip.

The shortened URL used for Twitter is also good, but the tweet text is not. The text is created by Twitter's javascript code, instead of from the URL's Open Graph tags. I've added an explicit tweet text to the button which should fix the issue.

Please install it and let me know if that fixes your issues.

    Thanks,

    js.

I Installed the dev version 3.5.2, and it didn't fix those 2 on the index page. Twitter & pinterest still show the title of my blog & not the post, but the picture is correct. I've turned on debugging for you (sorry I didn't have it on before).

Ok, I found the issue... It's what happens when an application gets too big and you start to re-use/optimize some functions - you can forget to test some scenarios. ;-)

Download and install the latest DEV version - it should fix your problem.

    Thanks,

    js.

Yes, that did the trick! Thanks. Is there a way (that's not a hassle for you--I don't want to keep bothering you) with the pinterest button for one of the options to be to show the title of the post, then the name of the blog after it?

Also, even though I don't have the setting checked to reset the NGFB settings when I deactivate the plugin, it still resets them. I haven't tried checking it to see if maybe it's just the opposite.

Thank you so much! Your plugin has allowed me to eliminate 2 other plugins.
