Just a quicky, searches haven't yielded anything. When a theme says 'built-in plugins' does this mean the plugins are in the download ready to roll? or that the code is there with function_exists if you do install that plugin?

Usually it means the functionality is there and you will need to install the plugin and uncomment the appropriate code.
There are a few themes with built in plugins.
