Built In Featured Slider Not Displaying

    I am using a theme with a built in featured slider to display categorized posts and I set up the custom fields and categorized it and it still isn’t displaying. I’m sure I’m just over looking something simple. Can anyone give me a few pointers?

    follow up. It works when page is set as blog, but when set as static page it doesn’t work. Is there something I can ad to the php to set it to work on static page as well?
