I have installed this interesting XML Sitemap generator. I tried to run the initial creation process. It gave me errors. I had to manually create sitemap.xml and sitemap.xml.gz. I did. I am still getting errors when I manually recreate. I just get a blank page..

* If you encounter any problems with the build process you can use the debug function to get more information.So 32 MB and 120 seconds should be enough??? What is the issue then
I don't have 8 posts yet?? -
sitemap.xml has been filled with data though, so why can't the plugin finish?

WordPress 2.7 with DB 9872 on PHP 5.2.3
Plugin version: 3.1.2 ($Id: sitemap-core.php 82176 2008-12-24 04:25:18Z arnee $) -

XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.1.2 stated it stopped around post 9 out of +- 100. But there are only 5 posts. Does the plugin not work because there is another blog in a sub directory?

Does anybody know if XML Sitemap generator has any problems with NextGEN Gallery?

Well I raised the maximum execution time to 200 seconds, the memory limit to 40 Meg and told the plugin to only include 5 posts. Again after clicking on rebuilding the sitemap I got a blank page and later on this error message:

Memory limit 0f 40M and time limit of 200 seconds should be enough don't you think?
The debug page does not indicate errors only data on the configuration... -

I added the generated sitemap myself and Google passed by. I got this error:
We were unable to read your Sitemap. It may contain an entry we are unable to recognize. Please validate your Sitemap before resubmittingSo I guess the generating didn't work out. -
The XML Sitemap Generator does not seem to create the final closing tag: </urlset>

I have deactivated the plugin. I will take care of sitemaps myself until the plugin works. I hope someone will post a solution some time in the near future...

Well, I unchecked gzipped xml and did a manual rebuilding of the sitemap again. I got a blank page again :-( . When I went to the XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.1.2 again there were errors building the sitemap indicated. It had stopped after post 9 out of +- 100. I have less than nine posts so I don't understand this at all. The sitemap.xml was updated, but again the final </urlset> was missing so I had to edit the file. Otherwise Google would not use the sitemap because it wouldn't validate at all.
Is there anybody out there who knows how I can hunt down the bug(s) that are causing this?

Great to hear that Redbourn. It doesn't help me though. I tried to reinstall completely and install again. But I don't think it was a complete removal as the plugin remembered that the last building did not finish when I entered the plugin admin adter removal, re-upload and activation..

I edited some posts and the plugin tried to rebuild the sitemap, but failed. Again the final tag </urlset> was missing. And I don't know what I am missing....

E-mailed the developer a week ago, I think. No reply yet. Every time I update something or create something new on my WordPress website, I have to adjust the sitemap.xml. I need to add </urlset> at the end and then it is fine again. It works like this, but it is not perfect. And neither does the plugin notify other search engines properly. But hey, I can take care of that until I get a new insight or someone posts a solution...

Well, MySQL standard mode was needed cause the plugin conflicted with another one. You can adjust MySQL standard mode in the plugin's administration

Posted 2 years ago #I SOLVEd THE PROBLEM AFTER 2 DAYS SEARCHING! My problem was a wrong sitemap integration from Global Translater Plugin and XML-Sitemap Plugin:
If this aint your problem try increasing your memory or learn .htacces
If it is look, down here now.GO TO
YOURSITE.COM/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=global-translator/options-translator.phpNow scroll a bit down and uncheck this: Enable sitemap integration
Also some1 at my school found this sql injection attack wich is availbe when both plugins are activated. here it is
