Hi guys, i am aware that i need to build backlinks to my website if i am to rank highly in the google search engine.
My website is - Coolest-tech
My question is, if i want a post to rank highly in google, do i need to create backlinks towards that post, or do i need to create backlinks towards my website as a whole?
Also, if i create loads of backlinks towards my sites homepage, will that mean that my posts will rank better aswell?

Other people need to link to YOUR site. That's a backlink. So YOU don't link to your site, you talk to other people with similar sites and get THEM to link to you :) Otherwise you're spamming, and that's bad.
Naturally most people will link to your homepage, but if you can get them to link to a specific article or post rather then just the homepage that will increase your chances of that post ranking well.
Getting links to the homepage will help you, but it will be more beneficial for posts to rank well if they link directly to the post.
