   Hello,

   I am new to WordPress. I was told that WordPress is like other content management software (like Joomla and Drupal) that you can use to build a fully functional site. Are there any guides that is available to point me to that direction? Where do I start?

   I have tried a couple of content management software, but they seem to be very heavy. I heard that WordPress is better, so I'd love to give it a try.

   WordPress is great, and you can also use it to build a site using pages instead of posts.

   Here is a guide on creating pages.
   Here is info on using WordPress to build a static site.

   This will get you started.

   Yes, wordpress is very flexible like that, the main idea is to just create pages and not posts. Or you can link directly the post pages, rather than have them automatically update on your front page.
