I am using the latest version, just so you know. Read this post:
    http://www.ipcguide.com/beta/2009/03/20/yet-another-ie8-bug/
to see the bugs in WordPress with IE8. Read bugs 2-thru-6.

    What makes these WordPress bugs?

"just found ANOTHER bug! How pathetic that it wasn’t found before releasing this!"

I think you should take care in not giving the impression that you believe WordPress bugs are responsible for your statements, when your article is clearly relative to your experience with Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. If you have a theory, test it. That means you have to be able to reproduce your results under known circumstances, while eliminating variables one at a time to narrow your findings to an accurate and repeatable conclusion.

    1) Have you attempted to, or can you, duplicate the exact same behavior in WordPress using browsers other than "IE8"?

    2) If you can, is it present in any theme other than the one your are currently using?

    3) The title of your article is "Yet another IE8 BUG". Are you testing the Beta release of IE8 (possibly by now in RC1 status), or are you testing WordPress?

"I have reported numbers 2, 3, and 4 to the WordPress team so they can figure it out for those of us who use WordPress and IE8. Afterall, it was them who said that IE8 worked perfectly with WordPress. This is the latest version, too, so they can’t say that it is a version issue.

    UPDATE (two minutes later):

    Number 5:
Now, after posting, numbers 2, 3, and 4 are no longer existent. Pathetic!

    Number 6:
Immediately after posting, it goes to the HTML tab and you have to manually switch, plus it makes all of the original line breaks into paragraphs.

I have reported numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 to the WordPress team. Hopefully no more bugs pop up! By the way, I am downgrading back to IE7 because it is 100 times better. Until Microsoft makes IE8 bug free, I will not support it as a developer because I refuse to deal with is in its current form or any future form with bugs."

I think that as a "developer", reporting these IE8 related experiences to WordPress is like writing and telling General Motors you have a complaint about your new Ford Mustang.

Actually, I was not using a beta version. Microsoft has officially released Internet Explorer 8. Get your damn facts straight! And the bugs are with WordPress and IE8 as a combo. FIND OUT THINGS BEFORE POSTING!

    Get your damn facts straight!

Hmmm. Okay, I see. I do think I mentioned that it may actually be in RC1 status, did I not? But as a "developer", I guess you would know that better than I. My only contact with IE8 anymore, is with the beta participant program for Windows 7. And I still think it's ( even though it is an IE8 release that has been optimized for Windows 7 ) a piece of crap.

Get your damn facts straight! And the bugs are with WordPress and IE8 as a combo. FIND OUT THINGS BEFORE POSTING!

I did in fact read your "article" on the subject, before I posted, and I think your attitude towards my statement simply reflects your insecurity about your own credibility, so just ease back on the throttle a little there, "Arthur".

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and that includes you. I respect that. I just think you are taking an irresponsible approach to publicly posting on your "tech" blog, that you have found several new "WordPress" bugs and reported them... but, you can do that. It's your blog.

And the bugs are with WordPress and IE8 as a combo.

My belief is that your statements and conclusions about WordPress, are at this time, unfounded and irrational conclusions based on flawed methodology and analysis. If you don't want feedback, (especially feedback that disagrees with you), then don't post it publicly or give direct links to posts on your own blog inviting people to view it.
    Simple as that.

I think your logic in this matter, and your conclusions about your "WordPress bugs", regardless of what may develop in the future, are in this case, all crap. I'm not sure why you've got your panties all in a bunch. If there is any merit to your claims, I'm sure the development team will be grateful for your input, and take the steps to actually investigate. And I still stand firmly by my previous analogy:

"I think that as a "developer", reporting these IE8 related experiences to WordPress is like writing and telling General Motors you have a complaint about your new Ford Mustang."

    That's my opinion.

...and how about that? I never swore at you, or SHOUTED AT YOU, even once!

Best wishes to you! Keep up the good work!
