Hi I am new to WordPress but I am impressed already :-)
Here is one little annoying thing I've found in the WP admin:
1. Select Common Options > "Default"
2. Enter "/foo" under Optional > Category base or tag base
3. Go to a page on your site where you have a menu.
Now none of the links to cetegories or pages have links with /foo/ .
I installed the AskApache RewriteRules Viewer 2.5 and it says:
> Not using permalinks
> Writable .htaccess file found
> mod_rewrite found
> Not using pathinfo style index permalinks
> Not using mod_rewrite permalinks
If this is a bug it sould be corrected. If it's a feature, I suggest that some info text is added on the "default" option and/or Optional. It would also be nice if the fields became "locked" or greyed out. Then this would be more easy to understand.
