I just stared my blog a few weeks ago and I’ve come across some bumps in the road. I chose the Bueno them from Woo Themes and this is what’s been happening:

-The “Edit Image” button doesn’t show up in my image window when I go to add an image to a post. I’ve reinstalled WordPress and nothing changed.

-Whenever I add a Featured Image, the photo doesn’t show up. Instead some weird text (including “Warning: getimagesize(Object) [function.getimagesize]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in ….”) shows up both in the post and in the spot where the featured image should go in my sidebar.

You can see the problem here: http://www.dessertion.com

-I want to translate my posts into Spanish, so I wanted to create a page titled “Español” — except the tilde and the n don’t show up the page’s header, yet when I roll my mouse over the word, a little label shows up that correctly reads “Español.” Can’t figure out how it can appear one way on the screen and another in the little label.

You can see the tilde problem here: http://dessertion.com/index.php/espanol/

    I’m using WordPress version 3.0.4.

Are these issues related? I’m a complete beginner here, so maybe there’s some really obvious thing I’m overlooking. I’d appreciate any thoughts. ana.

    Hi camilayp.

Where are you have your problems with accents? In post headings, or somewhere else? Are you using the Bueno theme?

If you are using Bueno, one thing I learned is that the font used for the post headings (ChunkFive) doesn’t have accents. BUT … there was someone out in cyberspace who added accents to ChunkFive, but you’d have to install THAT version into your blog. (However, even this version is missing some characters commonly used in other languages.)

Write back and let me know what you’re using. And, if possible, provide a link to your site so you can point to the problem.

    Good luck. ana.
