[resolved] Buddypress Conflict - Installer.php creation starts but does not end (10 posts)

    Hello,

    I'm using version 0.4.1 of your plugin. I'm working on a test site doing a BuddyPress and BBPress integration on a clean install of WordPress. Both plugins are working fine together so I decided to make a backup to make things easier for me.

    This file installer.template.php gets updated every time a backup is created but it never ends creating the installer.php file in the snapshot folder.

    Here is where it stops logging:

    09:07:58 log:class.zip=>ended
    09:07:58 log:act__create=>zip file size is: 7.93MB
    09:07:58 log:act__create=>zip archive complete.
    09:07:58 log:act__create=>recorded archieve id: 6
    09:07:58 *********************************************************
    09:07:58 UPDATE INSTALLER FILE
    09:07:58 *********************************************************
    09:07:58 log:fun__build_installerFile=>start
    09:07:58 log:fun__build_installerFile=>end
    09:07:58 log:fun__create_installerFile=>started

    It never reaches:

    DONE PROCESSING

    I been using your plugin since version 0.3.2 on different WordPress setups. I assuming is a conflict with Buddypress since I have backup and restore BBpress forums with out issues.

    On the same server I have a BBpress installation on a different folder and 2 BuddyPress and BBpress installations. The BBpress install finishes the process but both Buddypress installs halts at the same point.

    Thanks.

    Here are a few options:

    Update to latest hotfix line (0.4.2)
    -> Browse to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
    -> Look for the section "Other Versions"
    -> Click on "Development Version" and download the zip plugin file
    -> Uninstall your current version and install this one

    Check this FAQ

    Hello,

    I tested yesterday both options you suggested before WP, Buddpress and BBpress release updates and they didn't work. Today, I made another clean install but with WP 3.5.1 and the new versions of BBpress and Buddypress. Unfortunately, nothing has changed.

    This is only happening with this setup. My other WP sites use Duplicator with out issues. In less than 10 minutes I can "duplicate" any site. Pun intended! :)

    Thanks.

    It might also me a permissions issues as it fails creating the installer file. You may need to check the permissions group/owner of the PHP processes that writes to the wp-snapshots directory and the root WP folder where the files are actually written to...

    Hope that helps!

    check the permissions group/owner of the PHP processes

    Uhm that sounds like something I might not have access to on a shared server. You wouldn't happen to have this in your FAQs? I did set the plugin and snapshot directories and files to 755.

    Anyways, I found a way around the problem. I deactivated BBpress and processed to make a package file. It worked... I activate BBpress it doesn't finish the process. I deactivated it and I can run Duplicator completely.

    I really don't know what to make it of it.

    Similar scenario happened with another plugin called WP-Symposium. I disable BBpress and I can create my package with out problem.

    The size of the package doesn't seem to make a difference one was less than 8MB and the others are 25-30MB.

    Thanks.

    I think I may now what the issue is as I fixed this for someone else who had a similar issue. The patch is in version 0.4.2 if you want to try it. You can get that version here:

    -> Browse to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/
    -> Look for the section "Other Versions"
    -> Click on "Development Version" and download the zip plugin file
    -> Uninstall your current version and install this one

    Give it a shoot and let me know what you find...

    Hello,

    Haven't had time to get back to you about this issue but I had already tested 0.4.2 unless you have done any changes in the past few days.

    Here are a few options:

    Update to latest hotfix line (0.4.2)
    -> Browse to http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/duplicator/developers/

    -> See Area/Question: "Timeout Issues"

    This was the 1st thing I tested when was suggested then I moved on to the time outs options.

    Both didn't work on my host.

    Let me know if you have done any changes so I can test it on my test environments.

    Thanks.

    Hey Lemoreo,

    The instruction I left for each update are part of the hotfix line. So if you try one version and I make mods and let you know then the codebase will have updated and the package will be new but will still have the same version.

    This is the only way to really deliver changes to people before an official release... So the version I upload should be different then what you installed a few days ago... Its not guaranteed to work but it has changes I think might help...

    If you want to work more closely on the issue you can submit a support ticket...

    Cheers!

    Sorry Cory,

    Bad news, the new version stops here:

    *********************************************************
    UPDATE INSTALLER FILE: 12:20:39
    *********************************************************
    log:fun__build_installerFile=>start

    But still if I disable BBpress, I get here:

    log:fun__build_installerFile=>end
    log:fun__create_installerFile=>started
    log:fun__create_installerFile=>installer.php updated at:
    [removed for privacy]
    log:fun__create_installerFile=>ended
    *********************************************************
    DONE PROCESSING => [removed for privacy]
    *********************************************************

    Thanks for your hard work.

    Hi Lemoreno,

    If you want to open a support ticket I can login to your system and look around, at this point I would have to debug to see what the issue is...

    Cheers!
