Hi here,
I just some advice. I am using worpress and buddypress together. I have decided to go with only buddypress as it offers a suitable platform for forums. I have about 700 registered users. Is there a way I can disable worpress and not lose current users' accounts?

You cannot "disable" WordPress, since BuddyPress is a plugin for WordPress.
No WordPress, no BuddyPress.
