I’ve been using Bruteprotect on several sites, thinking I was secure. Then, I went to login while adblock plus was running in my browser (I tend to unblock my own sites).

When I try to log in while adblock is running, the bruteprotect captcha does not show, and I can log in as if bruteptrotect is not even there.

This makes me wonder- if attackers are using a system that ignores java/flash/whatever… then is bruteprotect doing anything for me? I’m thinking that the answer is no.

The CAPTCHA only shows up when your site is having trouble accessing our API– it is a fallback, and would not be affected by adblock.

In the event that the CAPTCHA is meant to display but does not (for example, you use a non-standard login page), then ALL log ins are blocked until our API server is available.

Our methodology is to always err toward blocking logins.

So yes, you are absolutely protected, fear not!

Thanks for letting me know how that works!
