[resolved] Broken theme - how to I upload my backup asap? (4 posts)

    Hi,

I accidentally moved a file while working in Filezilla (the log said 250 file successfully moved or renamed). The outcome is I now have an error message saying the theme is broken and it's reverted to the default theme (which doesn't work with my content). When I go into themes it says the stylesheet is missing. Is there a way to replace this (please tell me exactly what to do as I'm new to this).

Alternatively, can any body please tell me how to either move the file back or upload my back up file (do I load up the folder - called Home 1 - or the whole zip file?)

    Thanks in advance,

    Sharon

you move it back the same way you moved it wherever you moved it in the first --

you upload your unchanged theme in filezilla to them directory.

you dont upload the home1 directory, OR the zip.

you locate the theme files inside home1 or the zip, and you upload the files.

You see files on your server, so why would you upload a zip to replace files?

Yes, I can see that about the files - I panicked and thought back to how I uploaded the theme onto wordpress in the first place.

I don't know which file I moved - I can see the log says 250 but I can't see what that is. If WordPress says the style sheet is missing should I upload that on it's own. Would that be the file called style.css? And, does it just go straight into the theme folder?

Thanks for your help - I very much appreciate it.

Wow, I did it. I am such a newbie :) Thanks for your help. Using Filezilla is way easier than I expected it to be - I put a lot of resistance into something that's actually very logical and smooth. Thanks again. Happy to see it all back again!
