Some how along the way I broke the display of the parent child category relationship on my site. I’m not sure how, or when this happened.

When I am in the Dashboard it shows Alex Jones and David Icke are under the Wild Conspiracies category, but they don’t show up as child categories on the main page.

I thought it might have been the them, so I installed it on a test site and verified it worked. I’ve tried disabling all of the plugins, but that didn’t work.

I tried a page order plugin at one point, but it didn’t work and I disabled it. I don’t know if that could have been what broke the display of the site or not.

    Any suggestions?

  • Make sure your theme is using the correct code (e.g. template tag, wp_list_pages()), with the correct arguments.

Try checking the “Show hierarchy” box in your Categories widget in Admin/Appearance/Widgets.

I was not familiar with the setting under “Admin/Appearance/Widgets” That did the trick. Thank you so very much.

In case anyone else finds this post with the same problem, I had to to to Admin/Appearance/Widgets, look over on the right hand side where I had Sidebar 1 with my category widget enabled, click on the drop down for the Categories widget and that’s where I found “Show hierarchy” option which was indeed not checked.
