Broken Menu on Latest Nightly (15 posts)

    Just updated to the latest nightly, and menus are quite broken. Sub-menus don't drop-down anymore, they show up in line with the rest of the menu links.

    Just FYI.

  2. I can't repro that on two sites.

    How did you update? Are you sure you updated every file? Try dumping your browser cache entirely.

    I confirm, Menu's don't drop down.

    In the backend it's not possible to make child under parent menu.

    Before I had this:

    Parent (drop down)
    child (when dropped down)
    child
    child

    Now it's:

    Parent
    Parent
    Parent

    Also, It's not possible to put posts as menu item?

  4. Are you talking about the Nav Menus feature, or the standard menus on your admin site?

    Of the nav menus, I can get children, but I have to force drag them over. By default they all show up on the same level. Once I move them over, they work as children.

    the nav menus feature is the issue. I'm not talking about the admin/dashboard area of the nav menus, I'm talking on the public side of the site. The dashboard side of things works perfectly. I can set children pages no problem.

    However, those child pages don't dropdown any longer from the nav menu, even in the twenty ten theme.

    Here's a screenshot:

    In the screenshot, "Comment Guidelines" should be under "About". That's how it's setup in the Dashboard menus area. And it used to show correctly, until I updated to the latest nightly.

    I've got the issue in the backend system with nav menu feature. I can't drop the a child under a parent option. Moving won't help aswell, it just will go up. They still stack under eachother.

    The output is still

    <ul>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    </ul>

    Instead of

    <ul>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    </ul>

    <ul>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    <li></li>
    </ul>

    Tlongren, I think it's a CSS problem. You checked the Z-index'es?

    I haven't checked. Like I said, even the default twenty ten theme is broken if that's the case.

  8. tlongren I just updated mine and it works fine on my child of 2010. I didn't mess with the lists portion, so I'm rather confident the child isn't the matter. That said, I DID pop back to 2010 and it was fine.

    I'm running the latest nightly. Try upgrading? It may have been a bug they fixed overnight.

    Also MAKE SURE you upgrade the theme as well as the rest of WP ;)

    robinvd Upgrade. :) It's working fine on my two sites with last night's nightly. I can drag 'em under MUCH better than two days ago.

    Well, seems fixed. Turns out the menu manager moved "Comment Guidelines" out from under "About" somehow. Put it back under About and it was fixed.

  10. The nightly from Monday was a little tetchy with menus, but the code sprint seems to have cleaned up a lot. :)

    And yay for Beta 2!

    Doing a complete reinstall of beta 2, curious If it will help.

    Update: did clean install of beta 2. Adding posts under a category option is removed? When adding custom link, still can't drag it on top of parent to make it a child.

    Wow, .. it took me only 5 hours to find out I need to drag and drop the item to the right to make it a child under a parent.. I feel pretty stupid but guess im not the only one who will think this is odd..

    Now I only have my post problem.. it got deleted in beta 2 so how can I add these under a category parent?!

  14. Adding posts would be just adding 'links.'

    IIRC the rational was that some of us have a few thousand posts, and listing those would break your server.

    Did the Automatic Update go bust in WordPress 3.0-beta2-14508? Try to auto update but it stops at :"Unpacking the update…" - and then nothing happens.

    *EDIT. De-Activated: Plugin "W3 Total Cache" and now automatic updates works again.
