Broken links from media library pdfs (5 posts)

    Hello,

I'm administering to 7 identical sites (foreign versions of one another) and just noticed that one of the sites is displaying the follwing error message when I click on a link to a media library document:

The link you clicked on would have sent you to a website that we have not explicitly verified as being safe. This action has been canceled and you are still on our website.

Please hit the "Back" button on your browser to be returned to the previous page.

I have looked at my permalinks, htaccess files, and numerous php files to attempt to find the problem. As far as I can tell, all the sites are functionally identical, and yet this one shows the above error message in the browser. Other links, by the way (such as videos) still work.

Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas on a fix?

    Thanks very much.

    Hi esmi,

You can find some right-hand side Resource links at:

    http://www.crossbeam.de/solutions/next-generation-data-center/

Clicking them brings up the browser message. At this point I'm thinking it's an Eloqua script error, but I'm not sure.

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Thanks very much.

I'm still hoping it's an Eloqua problem. That would only require replacing a js file. I work in one of those small, hi-tech environments where everything needs to be done yesterday, so I usually start with the quickest fix and go from there. If the Eloqua thing doesn't work, I'll definitely go you route and see what happens.

    Thanks again.
