Hi everyone,
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I keep seem to be drawing a blank on this subject!!!
I am new to wordpress and in my posts I have wanted to insert a new paragraph or a break.When doing this in visual the break/paragraph does not show in the post and when I put in either a
or <p> in the html section this does not seem to work either.
How on earth do we get a break ornew paragraph in a post in wordpress?

please link your site so we can see if its a function of your css stylesheet.
Basically, if you push enter twice, in either the visual editor, or the plain text editor, your text will be wrapped in P tags by wordpress automagically.
If you view the page source and check your HTML you'll see if this is happening or not.
If not - you may have installed a plugin to disable wp automatic <p> insertion.
In summary, if you have no such plugin installed, and you're pressing enter twice between paragraphs, then your problem is with the css stylesheet that's part of the theme you're using.
Lets hope your theme isn't displaying only the excerpt... we'll deal with that when you link your page ;)
