If you have WP SEO activated, just go to SEO->Internal Links and check the ‘enable breadcrumbs’ checkbox.

No, I am talking about the page title, the stuff between <title> and </title>. 😉
No need to get snarky….
Have a look at the variable available to you in SEO->Titles & Meta on the Help tab. If it’s not there, it’s currently not available.
You could of course do it manually on each page via the SEO Metabox 😉
Sorry, I really did not mean to offend you.
It’s too early in the morning for 100% accurate posts. 😉
I just checked the help tab – which I completly commented out in my head until now… 😉
Does not seem to be there at the moment. 🙁
Manually editing for each page is not really an option. 😉
What do you think about this feature? In my eyes it is a very important SEO component. Because, for example, a page title looks like this at the moment:
page title – site name
and could look like
page title – parent page title – grand parent page title – site name
I would say that a lot of sites work that way, which makes an impact on search engines but also how much users might click on the link shown in the search result. Also if the page is bookmarked it speaks for itself better.
I suggest you open a feature request to this effect on GitHub. I’m not sure whether it would have a positive effect on SEO, I’m well versed on SEO, but no expert. Yoast would be the person to ask I suppose.
Technically it shouldn’t be that much of an issue, but that’s another matter.
I will open a feature request, thank you for the link! 🙂
Well, I am not a real expert, but read a lot that the title is relevant and should contain information about the page parents.
Also it looks a lot nicer. 😉
