   Greetings:

   I recently (today) installed MU version on my domain, hosted by A Small Orange, and after a few missteps it seems to be up and running. (Boy do I now have a lot to learn!) My questions are:

   1) To complete the install I had to grant "Write" privileges to the ...\Blogs subdirectory so that the install could create the wp-config file. If I reset those privileges to "READ" will WP work?

   2) During the install I never received any question regarding subdomains vs subdirectories. I don't have a personal preference. Should I do anything to set it for subdirectories vs subdomains, and if so, what?

   Thank you for any help. As an aside, I have WordPress for Dummies, any recommendations for other / better resources?
