• I built my WP site http://www.krazyforcoupons.com myself and I am still making changes to content. Any advice would be great.
It is a coupon blogging site with loads of information about saving money and coupon-related content.

It was very difficult to build this website on my own and I knew nothing about how to even start to build a website. I spent many long hours into the night working on it and trying to figure out how to do certain things. I know nothing about HTML and I did find a WP theme that worked with my knowledge level. I also have my site heavily monitized. I think I did just fine.

    Thanks!

  • Not to bad for your first try, I’ve seen a lot worse. Easy to tell its your first wordpress website as well though. This is because you have missed some very basic configuration settings. Most newbies do this.

One that your should correct asap is your permalink structure. Turn tour post and page urls into pretty urls, they are currently set on the default ugly url permalink structure. To fix it, go to Settings > Permalinks > select the custom setting and use /%postname%/ for your permalink structure. There is nothing wrong with the current setting but Google has confirmed that pretty urls help with rankings and just looks so much better.

2 more quick pointers. Install a plugin called “wordpress seo”. This will help with your rankings a lot and its quite simple to configure.
Also be sure to add a file called “robots.txt” to your root directory because thats going straight to a 404 error page at the moment and thats not good for ranking either.

i think your site has the potential, just give a little more try outs and i think you should find quality backlinks from now on to rank better in google as well.

    Why so much ads?
