Hi Laurina,
When you say you resized your photos, what did you resize them too?
The thumbnails are generated from a larger picture. On the blog section, the circular thumbnail should appear, but then on the single post, the larger image should appear.
So if you’re original image is small, then it might look weird on your single post.
Can you provide a link to your site so that we can see what’s going on?
I set up a test post for you here –
http://bold-headline.bluelimemedia.com/how-to-use-images/
where you can see the image on the single post.
You can also view the thumbnail on the home page –

( At least for now, if you are looking at this thread in a few months, the home page may be different. )
Hi Christine,
http://www.laurinawong.com
The photos appearing so large in the featured photo. Not circular.
Are you adding these images as featured images?
It doesn’t appear like it.
The images don’t go in the post but instead are added as a featured image by using the link in the bottom right hand corner of the post admin.

Hi Christine,
Yes, all of the photos were added as featured image when I added them on. Not sure what’s happening.
Can you check under Settings > Media and see what size your thumbnails are set to?
I think it might be set to 500 x 500.
Try changing it to 150 x 150 and then do a test to see?
If that works and you’re happy with the size, then you may want to resize your original thumbnails. Just use this plugin to do that – http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
You don’t need to re-upload your images.
Yes you were right!! Thanks SO MUCH!!!
Just looked at your site.
Looks much better. 🙂
