Bluehost changed my password without telling me (2 posts)

I just wanted to share with other WP users about my bad experience with Bluehost as a warning. Below is the email I've sent them

I've just changed my Cpanel password and my Mysql password was changed
    along, which broke my website.
When I went to Cpanel to change it back, it wouldn't allow me, as it
complains the password was too weak. I've logged using SSH into my
account and accessed Mysql directly to try and change the password
myself there, which mysql complained I didn't had enough privileges to
set it back to what it was.

I've contacted support, who advised me to create a new user, but even
doing that wasn't enough as it seems that some of my scripts have the
password encrypted. Calling suport, their only reply was that they
couldn't do anything to fix the problem or set my password back to
what it was, even if I told them what the password is, claiming that
if cpanel won't change if for me, the password is too weak.

I'd like to file a complaint on this, as now, I'll have to get back to
the developer and have all the website reconfigured.

I reckon that if you never need their customer support, you should be fine though. Whoever changes their customers password without telling them?

Changing your mySQL password for WordPress, BTW, is a simple matter of editing the wp-config.php file on the server. If you know what the new password is, just go put it in that file.
