Hi all,
My blog isn't working now that I have installed it locally on my computer. I can't add a post unless I log in to WordPress.com. I'm not sure what I've done wrong. I am using a Mac computer, so the installation process was not as straightforward as it could have been. My website is - http://www.vickymcnaught-davis.com.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I began this website using WordPress.com. I've now installed the WordPress.org package on my computer and can now run it from logging in here - http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-login.php?checkemail=confirm. But, I can't get the blog to work.
Any ideas?

You do realise that your locally hosted copy of WordPress is in no way connected to your wordpress.com site, yes? What happens if you navigate to http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-login.php

I can log in as the admin for the site and install plugins. That's about it really. But the posts are exactly the same though and get updated with the same content? Also when I click on the visit site link in the top left corner of my screen it takes me to vickymcnaught-davis.com, so I assumed that the transfer worked?
No - you cannot run your wordpress.com site from your locally hosted copy of WordPress.

No. You must carry out all of the work for your wordpress.com site on your wordpress.com site. Also these forums are for self-hosted WordPress sites only, so you may want to ask any future questions relating to your .com site on http://en.forums.wordpress.com/
