Blogroll missing since upgrade to 2.1.3 (3 posts)

    On my blog I recently upgraded to WP 2.1.3 which caused an error in my sidebar. I went through unplugnow's steps to resolve this -- http://wordpress.org/support/topic/115353 -- and the error message no longer displayed (good!) but my blogroll links don't show up (bad).

    Below is the code from the theme I use (Soft White). I know this stuff is deprecated in this version of WP AND I have posted a message for the template creator. However, in the meantime I'd simply like my blogroll to show up.

    <?php
     $link_cats = $wpdb->get_results("SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM $wpdb->categories WHERE link_count!='0'");
    foreach ($link_cats as $link_cat) {
     ?>

       <h3><?php echo $link_cat->cat_name; ?></h3>
    <ul><?php get_links($link_cat->cat_id, '<li>', '</li>', '<br />', FALSE, 'name', FALSE, TRUE, -1, TRUE); ?> </ul>

    I've read numerous threads and done as they've instructed to no avail (e.g., I've replaced the code with the wp_list_bookmarks but keep getting parse errors). I seem to be at an impasse. Any thoughts or links to posts which have helped you solve this problem will be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

    The first thought is: why would you "update" your blog to a vulnerable, unsafe version (2.1.3). The latest stable is 2.2.1.

    You need to remove the whole code you posted above. Everything. And then try to use the wp_list_bookmarks

    I used 2.1.3 because that's what GoDaddy had on offer through their hosting. Before I attempt to fix the code, I think I'll go through the upgrade process again the long way with the newest version of WP.
