   I cannot make it work. It appears in my dashboard but not when someone opens my blog on their browser. any ideas?

   Check out, http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/changing-the-favicon. Just FYI, this is the .org site for self hosted WordPress sites, you are apt to find more help for wordpress.com hosted sites on their forums.
