Blogger upgrade- looking for template recommendations

I spent about an hour this morning writing up my experience in moving from Blogger- did someone delete it? It was on topic and since I didn’t expect my first post here to be deleted I didn’t keep a copy.

Anyway, I am moving my blog from http://caltrade.blogspot.com to a wordpress blog that will be at http://www.caltrade.com/news. I use an ad server, and had asked if there were any development tools that let you easily put widgets in that allow javascript and iframes, as I didn’t know the layout tools would disappear on the control panel on my own server. I’m also looking for recommendations on a template that will looks something like the one I have at http://caltrade.blogspot.com with fairly prominent ads- including one that displays on the page you get when click the “read more” link.
