Blogger Import not working :/ (4 posts)

I have a blogger account I wanted to transfer to my custom WordPress. I was receiving the 1/10 posts and 1/XX comments issues.

I opened a WordPress.com account, and am trying to import to there from Blogger. When I try it from the WordPress account (I am logged into Google, also), I get the following error after I click the "Authorize" button on the WordPress.com acccount:

The page you have requested cannot be displayed. Another site was requesting access to your Google Account, but sent a malformed request. Please contact the site that you were trying to use when you received this message to inform them of the error. A detailed error message follows:

The site "http://wordpress.com" has not been registered.

Is there a work-around to this problem? I don't mind importing to the WordPress.com account, exporting, and importing to the custom WordPress installation. I am using WordPress 2.7.1.

    Thanks,
    Ahad.

It's not just me then !
Have had the same issue attempting import to .org and .com

Shame, as it worked so well before. Presumably something has changed on the google side.

Have tried unsuccessfully a couple of work arounds including saving the output from RSS at a txt file, and looked at plugins but nothing seems to be suitable.

Would love it if the automated import could be fixed.

    Thanks,

I contacted WordPress.com about it (which is apparently the incorrect thing to do, but I needed an answer) and this is a very helpful reply that I received:

Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing problems with the Blogger importer at WordPress.com. if your Blogger export file is <2MB, you can use the following converter to convert your Blogger export file to a WordPress import file that can then be imported from Tools > Import in your dashboard:
    http://blogger2wordpress.appspot.com/

If your Blogger export file is >2MB, then you may need to wait until the importer problem is resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will let you know when the importer has been fixed.

I only had 10 posts, so my file was less than 2MB. I was able to export from Blogger, convert, and import into WordPress. Sounds like if you've got a bigger file, though, then you're essentially out of luck until they resolve their issue.

    HTH,
    Ahad.
