I'm trying to import from the current release of Blogger [I have a bunch of friends I'm hosting on my dedicated box, and I'm trying to get them off of Blogspot and using real logware :D], and ... all I'm getting when I publish is the cafelog.php file, not the archive files.
Do any of you have enough Blogger experience to lend this long-time GM hand a hand? I mean, today's the first time I've even logged in to Blogger.
are u sure u are directing blogger to re-publish all files?
Be sure to set the archive to monthly. And republish the "entire site". That should get you the archive files you need.

The user I was working with already had monthly archiving set, and I was getting 553 errors in publishing the archives when I ran the "Republish Entire Site" routine.
that was teh reason i could not import my blogger settings. one fine day, it just refused to publish the file on my ftp server. that was the day, i discarded all the blogger entry as dead html pages on my site. and vowed never to use Blogger again. B2 saved me. ;)
Um, okay.
None of which really tells me anything.
Anyone else got any suggestions?
unfortunatly, unless you can get Blogger to publish the site, you are screwed. I think all you can do is to keep trying until it works. From what I've seen by the activity on BloggerForums, there have been problems w/ Blogger recently, and this might be related. Also, make sure that the FTP info in the Blogger settings is right. I had a problem where I didn't have the dir specified right, and it crapped out on me.

Yeah, at first I was giving it the full path, and then I realized that the account was already getting me into /home/username/.
I'll probably give it another whirl later on. I just didn't know if there was anything specifically foofy. I know the directions in import-blogger.php didn't exactly match up with the UI as presently laid out in Blogger.
Would you be willing to send in some updated directions when you figure things out?
I wouldn't dream of not sending in my findings, Matt. :)
I've succeeded in getting the files published over [having really not changed anything from before ... gotta love Blogger ;)], and I've run import-blogger.php, but ... like a moron, I forgot the admin pass, and I don't have phpMyAdmin access here at work. Le sigh.
I'm trying again now with 1.0, and with the 20040117 nightly, running wp-admin/import-blogger.php gives me the following error:
Warning: main(upgrade_functions.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/rmfoblog/public_html/david/wp-admin/import-blogger.php on line 19
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'upgrade_functions.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/rmfoblog/public_html/david/wp-admin/import-blogger.php on line 19
Is this an issue where some of the CVS code busted up the function from loading? I needed to load import-blogger to get the format to stick Blogger into.
Okay, try out the 1-22 nightly. This should be fixed.
Will do as soon as I can get out from under the fun of my job today.
I've run it now, but I'm getting odd results. I'll need to check the db when I have access to it via phpMyAdmin.
Matt, if you want to see the files, I can tar them and email them to you.

As a courtesy to others can I suggest that people include links to anything they are discussing. - infact why not put a statement to that order above the post message input box. Something like 'Please, to help make this forum useful to others, include any relevant links."
