blog with images - CDN workflow (6 posts)

Just curious if anyone is using their wordpress.org blog with a CDN.

AS I understand it, once I set it up, the workflow goes like this:

    1) Write blog pot. Use uploader to upload images.
    2) Synch/upload images to CDN
    3) Publish post (with images on CDN)

Is this right? It just seems clunky to me, and there is no way my clients will want to do that extra step.

Yes, I was looking at that.

But after setting it up, if I start a new post, will my files automatically be uploaded to my bucket?

Yes. Old media library attachments etc must also be uploaded using the media library export. Typically a one-time operation.

Ok, I see it's supposed to work that way.

So I copied everything to my bucket for example:

    http://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/img.jpg

    is now:

    http://distro.amazon.com/2010/07/img.jpg

but I reckon this is not good because there seems to be no easy way in the plugin to modify the path it should be using.

Is it supposed to be flat? ie:

    http://distro.amazon.com/img.jpg

Although that's not very good. If I can get w3 cache to work, will it mirror the wp directory structure from my server to cloudfront?

Amazingly, I can find no info via Google on this, all I can find are tutorials talking about how "easy" it is. I've been working for a full day and it still isn't working.

No, that's not supposed to happen, the directory structure should be the same on S3. You will need to submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin, nothing is working correctly on your server from what I can see.
