Blog will not show older posts in the category

We’ve got Modularity Lite working wonderfully on a site. The slideshow looks nice and uses any post categorized as Uncat. for the slideshow on the homepage. So I set up a News category for the blog posts themselves. The newest post will show up on the blog page, but the View Older Entries link will not show any older posts, nor will clicking on the News category name. Any idea how to get those older posts to show? Thanks!
