Your host has probably changed the location of your MySQL database, or MySQL is offline. Send a support email to them. Also, check wp-config.php again just to make sure that something didn’t change in there.

Thank you macmanx…
Merry Christmas
Shout a LOT at your host.
If you had WP working, and now it won’t, and now they say you don’t have a database, and you paid for one, shout at them.
If you have any emails from when you setup, use copies to prove what you had.
If I were you, I’d be making a huge noise at them, while also sorting hosting elsewhere.
How old was your blog ?

Thanks for your advice.
I shall go through all the emails from the host. WP was working fine one day and not the other. So I know I didn’t do anything.
Are you saying this is their mess-up?
My blog was relatively new – Sept 2004 but it was a day by day account of my volunteer experience in Belize. It was a big part of my life.
I am currently going through googles cache and retrieving all I can but I am really sad about this whole thing.

The same problem is happening with me…
Error establishing a database connection! This probably means that the connection information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect. Double check it and try again.
Are you sure you have the correct user/password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
I’m scared, I want my blog back 🙁 !
so, anybody can help me?
My site is http://carola.brazil-uk.net
everything looks fine inside my database… the wp-config.php is there and it looks ok.
Why my blog disappeared? 🙁
Carola – what is the url to your actual blog? Or where you are using WP ? The above url leads to .. a colourful place 🙂
Have you emailed your host ?
Checked their support for any announcements ?
Got a cpanel and tried to login ?
no, nothing of that 🙁
Let me do it now :”>
ok, can you help me? I don’t know even where to start 🙁
