   I found several posts addressing this, but they don't help with my issue.

   When trying to access any part of my blog, an index page comes up:

   http://jkvirtualoffice.com/blog/ this is the URL that the blog is installed on....but it comes up as an index. What causes this? There is no index.php file in my plugins folder, so that is not the issue.

   The same thing happens for the admin panel and I can't access it.

   I had the URL's redirected to URLs that were working, but they caused problems with the permalinks, so now I need this issue fixed permanently.

   Any help is appreciated. If you need more info, let me know.

   Talk to your host to make index.php a valid index file.

   Ok, so call my host and tell them I need index.php to be a valid index file? Is that all I need to do?

   To do it myself, do I have to know Apache? I really don't know where to begin because I've never had this problem before. The link whooami provided is a bit over my head....sadly enough.

   Edit: The only thing I see in my admin panel is Apache handlers....is this the same thing?

   Ok, well using an .htaccess file didn't help...was hoping I could avoid calling my host...
