Blog posts page showing home page

I have a static Home page (Front page) and my Blog page is set as the Posts page. However, in addition to showing the posts, the Blog page is also displaying the home page (as if it’s a copy of the homepage). I was told that the Blog page should be completely empty without any content on it, and it is so.
I can’t figure out why this is happening, could anyone provide suggestions for how I might go about resolving this issue?
