Blog posts not showing on blog page (fixed screen front page site) (23 posts)

All of a sudden, my photography blog page no longer shows the last (or any post) nor the option to click to the next earlier post.

I had this problem with my previous theme (Photocrati) and it's persisting with my new uDesign theme.

The posts are all showing in the sidebar of my front page so they're not lost so I think that somehow the link between the blog page and the posts has been lost or corrupted. No matter how I try I can't find how to add, link, or otherwise connect my blog page with my posts. I've tried adding another, new, post but this doesn't show either.

I'm lookin to change the name & url for my blog page anyway, so can anyone advise how I should create a new blog page to ensure that it picks up all my legacy posts as well as all those going forwards? (I'm not bothered about losing any links I might have to the old blog page and any links I've posted myself have been to individual posts so these should remain unaffected)

    TIA, Barney

Barney did you solve the problem? I have the same issue. All of a sudden my blogs are not appearing on the home page but like your blog, the posts are not lost.

Thanks Pankaj, i tried the plug-in but no success. :o(

Prometheus 4833, I'm still having the same issue.

BTW I've edited the page URL, so my photography blog should be here (but isn't, if you get what I mean.)

Having what may be the same problem as well. Posts are not appearing on home page. However, when I log in to the site I can see the posts on the home page. I've deleted the cache. After I've logged back out, visitors can see the posts on the index page. I've tried repairing wp_posts.php and the database. I restored the database from last Friday's backup, but am still seeing the same issue. Using the Woo Headlines 3.1 theme and WP Supercache. Turning cache off seems to have no effect.

I tried resetting my plug ins through http://FTP... nothing.
I tried deactivating and reactivating my plug ins.... nothing.

my posts are viewable through the index on the side bar... but not on the front page as the settings would indicate. Anyone else have any ideas?

I've also deactivated and reactivated all plug-ins, and also updated to WordPress 3.3, still nothing. It's been like this for weeks now.

in setting menu reading is there. you need to assign your blog page under post page

My settings are such that new posts should post to front page but mine are not. and my previous are not showing up on the front page.

I think, I've fixed it! I'd already been in to the Settings/Reading page and tried every permutation but none worked. Going back into the page I noticed that the page Template was set to Default rather than Blog Page. Changing that seems to have done the trick.

Barney... where and what options exactly are you referring to?

Click "Edit Page", scroll down to "Page Attributes", the second option is "Template" and selecting "Blog Page" in there seems to do the job.

Sorry, I'm just a photographer! Maybe because it's your front page as opposed to a separate blog page? Or it could be down to the theme you're using?

    Mr Allen!!!!

You helped me solve it! Apparently it WAS a bad theme! I changed the theme and everything is as it should be! It didn't occur to me... but thanks buddy.

The issue with posts not displaying on my site seems to have been associated with the WP Supercache plugin. I've disabled it and flushed the cache. I believe it's working, but I'm not sure I trust my computer. Can someone take a look at http://stc-rochester.org and let me know if they see posts or get a 404?
    Thanks,
    Ben
