• At the moment the blog page on my website (http://www.love-yourself-naturally.com/blog/) lists the blog posts as I write them, with the whole of each post going down the page.

I want to create a blog page that has a list of all the posts, with an excerpt from each, and ‘read more’ links to the post page.

How can I do this? Do I have to use a certain theme? Or is there a way to do it in every theme? I currently have the ZeeCompany theme installed.

  • After you write your blog post, click your mouse where you want your excerpt to end and click the “more” button. If you are writing in html view, this button will say “more”. If you are working in visual view it will look like two blocks with a dashed line in between.

    That’s great, thanks.

    One other question…

What if I don’t want to use the first few sentences, or whatever, but to write an excerpt?

You can write manual excerpts in the editor, if you don’t see the meta box for it click screen options to display it.
