blog page in CMS not allowing comments

    I have a blog page with blog template on my cms site. when I set it up with the rihgt settings (taking into account the theme conflict) – it looked and worked fine. I was able to put my posts and comments, and the Leave Your Comment field was available for visitors.

    After the recent theme upgrade the Leave Comment fiels is GONE.

    I have the discussion settings right, the theme settings (show recent comments on home page – which is counter-intuitive but apparently required) – so I am at a loss what else do I need to change to bring the comments field back.
