• Hi

Am I write in saying if I create a blank page called blog and select it as the posts page (settings > Reading > Front page displays). This should create the following url structure: http://www.example.com/blog/newpost

I have done this but when creatng new posts it is not picking up the /blog?

Have been using pages for the last year. But now decided to add a blog section to the website.

    Thanks

  • Perhaps you need to review Using_Permalinks?

Okay thanks for the response. Not sure what section I should be looking at there is a lot of information there.

Current permalinks are set to “post name”. On pages it works fine as given them a parent sorts the url structure nicely.

What the /blog to only be present for posts and not pages. Bit worried about messing up the whole structure as what I already have works well.

    Try using /blog/%postname% /

Just to confirm this won’t change any of the urls I currently have?

    Thanks

It will change your posts urls, yes but isn’t that what you wanted?

Great thanks. Yes just wanted to make sure it won’t change the page urls. Thanks for your help.
