Hi there,
I'm setting up a WordPress site for a friend who has an existing WP blog. I imported his blog to the new WP site using the xml file he created and it worked fine but now he has updated his blog and it hasn't propagated to the new site. I'm not sure if the problem is on his side or mine. Any suggestions would be a appreciated :)
Many thanks,
Kiz
Are you sure that he is updating the right WordPress site?

He's updating his original blog and wants it to automatically update on the new site I've created from there. All his previous posts were successfully imported to the new site from the original blog and I thought there would be a link through the xml file that would allow them to update together. I've tried post to the imported blog on the new site and it posts to the site but doesn't propagate back the other way to his blog. Should I just get him to only post to the blog from the website and forget about the original? It's the same information, just in 2 different locations. Ideally though I would like the website blog to update automatically when he updates from his original blog.

Sorry but you thought wrong. ;-) There is absolutely no connection between the two sites. The import option just grabs all of the content from site A and places it into an import file. Site B simply uses that file to create new content. End of story.

Yes - otherwise he is going to get hit by Google's duplicate content penalty.
