• Hello,
I would be glad to note my version, but because my blog is trashed, I am unable to access the dashboard or anything else, for that matter, that makes sense.
If I access my blog by typing in the URL, it is correct. If I try to access the dashboard, most of my pages are missing and nothing is the same since the last time I accessed it. There is only one page left out of about a dozen or so. This is combination of comments, pages, etc.
It is a work in progress; since I have other time constraints, it is difficult for me to “stay on it.” It has been since the beginning of June.
I noticed that there is another user that has a very similar name to his blog as I do, but I have had mine for a very, very long time…long before anyone else used the name. (Actually, I am kind of bothered by even allowing another name that is so close to mine.) As a matter of fact, I pay for the domain name to prove my blog name is original. Last time I was in the dashboard, I noticed the issue and had to alter my name a bit, to keep it unique. The only thing I can guess is that somehow WordPress allowed another user into my page by cross-linking data. Without knowing for sure exactly why this happened, that’s my best guess.
Since I am unable to find a contact directly with WordPress, does anyone here have any suggestions as to what I can do to get this fixed?? I am so frustrated, I’m about ready to chuck the whole idea.

    Thanks,
    Jake

  • You might get things rolling by sharing a link to the site so that others can take a look around and see if they can spot anything out of the ordinary for you.

Impossible. All your data is on your database. The only way would be if someone else had access to your database at your hosts server.

Please post a url. So you can get to the dashboard but the information displayed there is not correct?

    Guys,
The information is 99% missing. There is one page in there that is obsolete and has not been included for some time and the image is correct – but not used on that page. That is why I’m curious about what can be gained by posting my link…the data is obviously on the server because I can see it all; but I would think that the information in the dashboard is what you would need to see to determine what is in error.
Because I am not experienced in the internals, I suppose it’s possible that I messed up something. However, if that were the case, why would my pages show correctly (although in need of some editing)?
At any rate, here is the link:

Having the link lets us check several things without asking questions.

Get to your database and check the tables there. You can run a dp repair. Do you have a db backup? Check with the host. Sometimes they have them.
