OK, I’m using WP just for the blog portion of my website. My install is in a sub folder called blog. So my site is mysite.com and my blog is mysite.com/blog

How can I get WP to point to my site root instead of blog/WP root?

-or-

Is there a way to show home as a page in my pages dashboard?

This should help you:

It explains how to put WordPress in a folder (which you’ve already done) and (still) have WordPress look like it is installed in the root (just the domain name).

That does the opposite. I’ve actually just fixed it

I changed
<li><a href="<?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>">Home</a></li>
to
<li><a href="http://mysite">Home</a></li> 

in header.php
```
