• Sometime today my comment field disappeared. I’ve checked everywhere I could think of to locate the problem, but to no avail. I need to have my comment field back before Thursday morning when I publish my third post (part three of three). I checked everything over in Discussions and it looked OK. I received a comment last night and all was well. I don’t know what caused the change today. I added some plugins today that have nothing to do with comments. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Just as I feel like I’m starting to roll on my new site, this happens.

  • Turn off the plugins one by one, maybe one of them caused the problem

Thank you for your response. I tried what you suggested, but no change. What I had overlooked was to check my Contact page. The Comment field had migrated to there! I tried deactivating Contact 7 with no change, and then deleted it, but again, with no change. Any idea how I can get the comment field off the Contact page and back to the end of my blog posts on the Blog page? (I’m hoping to have this resolved before 8PM PDT today, Wednesday.)

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Thank you. I tried deactivating all plugins, but to no avail. Before switching to the default theme I’ll contact Photocrati support to see if a recent update may be the culprit. Being a newbie and a photographer, and not a techie, I’m hesitant to switch themes ( I know there won’t be an explosion, but I’m concerned it could throw off more than I can handle right now while I’m trying to focus on content, such as the post I will publish early tomorrow morning). As for resetting the plugins folder, I feel like a clueless idiot.
