WordPress SEO by Yoast
[resolved] Blog Archives Category Being Displayed on Blog Page (7 posts)

    WordPress version: 3.5
    WordPress SEO version: 1.3.4.1

    I did this:

visited my blog page - http://www.gadarian.com/blog/

I expected the plugin to do this:

    display my blog posts

    Instead it did this:

On my site the blog archives category is showing up instead of the actual blog page. When I disable all the plugins the issue resolves, but when I enable just WP SEO it comes back again.

The issue is also there if I use the WP Twenty Twelve Theme.

    Hi.

I reset the setting and also made some tweaks with my theme that seem to have resolved this. Looks like at least on this score I am good for now.

    Thanks!

I'm having the same issue on a client's site. When you click the link to the page, instead of displaying the page content, it is trying to show a category page.

I created a new page with the content, and that worked until I entered info into the SEO portion, and it broke again.

What tweaks did you do to the theme?

    uh oh...

I use Headway Theme on my site.

What I ended up doing was resetting the WordPress SEO settings and than I reset my blog page - truthfully I'm not sure what caused the issue to resolve but those were the two things I did.

    Hope that helps...

I did reset the plugin, but it is still not working. The page is still going to a category page instead of the content page.

    Any other ideas?

I uninstalled the plugin, reinstalled and that worked. Unfortunately, all the SEO data that was added to all post/pages was lost, but at least the correct page is showing now.

Sorry to hear that but glad it worked out in the end. For future reference I believe they have an export setting for the plugin as well.

Hopefully the site you were working on was not filled with too many pages.

    Best,

    David
