  • If you can see the admin panel, chances are we can already see the blog.

Give me a link were you think your blog might be located 🙂

    I called it ‘Scoreboardblog’
    The website is http://www.scoreboardsplus.com

I’m rather confused by your intentions on this forum.

    Your site is functioning fine….

I am going through the exercise of learning how to set a blog up. Can you explain to me how you actually viewed the blog?

Well first of all you do understand that your blog MUST be installed in a folder separate from your root folder. Installing WordPress in the root folder will make your blog display on your homepage. Is this what you want?

    No, it’s not..

    Download WordPress
un-zip > The file you will see is a folder called “wordpress”
Rename the “wordpress” folder to were you want your blog to accessed at.

Lets say you want your blog to be http://www.scoreboardsplus.com/blog rename the “wordpress” folder to “blog” upload and install…

Sounds so simple when you say it like that….Thanks!
Now I see too that the page would be : http://www.yoursite.com/blog/index.php . ( It was the ‘index.php ‘ part I wasn’t getting before.
In admin, where do I set the url for when people want to comment? Right now, any click on the blog page takes them to the homepage.

index.php should NOT be added to the URL. On a normally set up server that’s a given, no need for it.
The blog’s url should be: example.com/blog

Don’t over-complicate. You do NOT set any URLs. WP does everything for you. You just install the blog and everything will be there.

ALong the same question lines, I am BRAND new at this and lets say that I want WP to create my entire site. However, I want to seperate the blog part from the static and conventional web part of my site. How do I tell WP to do this? Can I tell WP to point to the root for my home page and then put the blog section in a \blog directory? Thanks–
